All Things Swag

Swag is a much larger conversation than most would think. Whether you’re purchasing swag for trade shows, employees, customers, speaker gifts, etc. there’s a lot to consider.

  • What’s the purpose (lead gen/conversation starter, appreciation, etc.)

  • Shipping and storage (is it heavy, will it fit in your booth, display options, where are you storing it post-show?)

  • Budget (for the actual item, shipping and handling is very $$$, storage, ROI, quality standards)

  • Brand (how does it relate to your story/product, consider custom items)

  • Timing (lead time, will it resonate with your audience now and later?)

  • Trends (no swag is common, stuffies, demo = high-value swag item, raffles/surveys - QR codes, food)

  • Environmental impact (will your item be thrown in the trash quickly?)

The key: be intentional and start early.
